PeaceHealth System Office supports the PeaceHealth healthcare system s regional operations with management services out of Bellevue, Wash. The office provides resources in such areas as finance, human resources, legal review, business development and group purchasing. The PeaceHealth system provides health care treatment that includes emergency, cancer, pediatrics and cardiology care. Medical centers within the system are located in Washington, Oregon and Alaska and include Ketchikan General Hospital, Ketchikan, Alaska, Sacred Heart Medical Center, Eugene, Ore., and St. Joseph Hospital, Bellingham, Wash. The systems roots trace back to 1890, when two members of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace left their convent in Newark, N. J., bound for the remote logging community of Fairhaven, Wash., to build a hospital to care for loggers, mill workers, fisherman and their families.
