Pacific Brew

Pacific Brewing and Malting Company, originally established in Downtown Tacoma in 1897, emerged from a merger between the Puget Sound Brewing Company and the Milwaukee Brewing Company. The brewery quickly became one of the largest in the Northwest, gaining popularity along the West Coast before closing due to Prohibition in 1916.

Revived in 2014 by a group of local beer enthusiasts, Pacific Brewing Malting Co. aimed to honor Tacoma's rich brewing history. Although their operations were halted again in 2020, the company remains hopeful for a future return to the craft brewing scene.
