Leadership Kitsap
Leadership Kitsap is a non-profit, volunteer organization that offers a year long educational program for existing and emerging community leaders in Kitsap County. Leadership Kitsap was founded with the purpose of developing community leaders in Kitsap County who will serve as catalysts for positive future change. One measure of a community's greatness is the caliber of its leaders. Leadership Kitsap is dedicated to training tomorrow's leaders and giving them the background, contacts and tools they will need to shape and direct our future. Each year, Leadership Kitsap sponsors a ten-month program of educational seminars. These seminars consist of nine one-day Challenge Days, one two-day retreat and a Leadership Development Day. Participants also work in teams on wide-ranging community projects of their own design. The program begins in September and ends with a graduation ceremony in June of the following year. Leadership Kitsap is designed to build upon a tradition of solid leadership in our community. With each graduating class, Leadership Kitsap increases the number of informed and vigorous civic volunteers who understand the needs of the community and are committed to meeting its challenges.
