I started my previous business, Finishing Touch Construction, in 1990 and focused on renovating and expanding older Seattle homes. I spent sixteen years working on houses built between 1900 and 1959. I know how homes were put together in my hometown of Seattle--or at least how they were supposed to be put together. One of the most interesting, and yes, challenging aspects about older homes is that many times things aren't what they seem. For example my current residence, a 1908 foursquare home was remodeled in 1938 and then in about 1962. One must sometimes act as an archaeologist to figure out what has been modified in a house over the years. This is one of the tremendous values I bring to a real estate transaction along with extensive knowledge of the city and solid negotiating skills. Lastly, I love working with and helping people transition to and from homes---oh and, let's laugh some in the process to keep things lively!
