You must buy tickets in advance! It also opens at a specific time and is not open to the public without tickets. You cannot tour the caves on your own. I did not actually get to see the caves...

The lava tube is at a constant 42°F or 6°C...so dress accordingly. Bring at least 2 light source. If you are soloing, I suggest a headlamp as your primary... you might need your hands free....
