Charlottesville Albemarle Rescue Squad
Founded in 1960, Charlottesville-Albemarle Rescue Squad, also known as CARS, is a first-aid services provider. With more than 160 active volunteers, it offers basic and advanced life support services and conducts rescue and emergency medical care classes. The organization specializes in fire suppression support, as well as technical, water and light- and heavy-duty vehicle rescue services. It also organizes various education seminars and public awareness lectures and workshops. Charlottesville-Albemarle Rescue Squad provides emergency medical transportation services and operates a fleet of ambulances, life support cars, mass causality incident trucks, and rescue van, boats and trailers.
