Capitol Grounds, established in 1988, is a caf house and a roastery. It is a Fair Trade-certified coffee roaster licensed by Transfair, a nonprofit organization that certifies Fair Trade products in the United States. It offers more than 25 kinds of coffees, such as Nicaraguan Segovia, Guatemalan Huehuetenango, Colombian Mesa de los Santos, Ethiopian Moka Harrar and Sumatran Mandheling. It also serves made-to-order sandwiches and bagels throughout the day. The caf house is a member of Specialty Coffee Association of America, Coffee Kids Vermont Fresh Network, Montpelier Downtown Community Association and Central Vermont Chamber of Commerce. Capitol Grounds is located in Montpelier, Vt., and provides gallery space for local artists.

5 stars for great tasting drip coffee (tried medium roast), friendly service and for having a brio train play area for younger kids (my 4 year old appreciated).
