Spencer C. Smith

Dr. Paul Meriac has a B.S. degree, Bachelors of Science in Business Marketing from East Carolina University, D.O. degree, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from VCOM-Carolinas, and completed residency training in Family Medicine at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. He enjoys working on preventative health care with his patients, through a focus on both physical health and mental health. He has an interest in sports medicine, wilderness medicine, and select in-office procedures. He further works with patients through all chronic medical conditions, mental health concerns, sports physicals, and routine wellness physicals. Dr. Meriac understands that many patients are predisposed to developing medical conditions but also focuses on preventing disease and further disease progression through a proactive and collaborative approach with patients. Dr. Meriac works together with patients through shared decision making to help his patients make the most informed health decisions for their own unique situations. In his off-time Dr. Meriac enjoys cooking, woodworking, mountain biking, skiing, and hiking.

Edward Kimball, M.D.'s research focus is Intra-abdominal hypertension and the abdominal compartment syndrome, shock, resuscitation and sepsis.

Dr. Swanson is an emergency physician at the University of Utah Hospital and the Medical Director of University of Utah AirMed. He is also the editor-in-chief of the Air Medical Journal and chair of the Utah Air Ambulance Committee. Dr. Swanson attended the University of Utah, University of Utah School of Medicine and completed his residency in emergency medicine at the University of Pittsburgh where he was the recipient of the Emergency Medicine Residents' Association National Clinical Excellence award. Dr. Swanson has been the recipient of numerous awards for his work in air medical transport which include: The Air Medical Physician Association’s Medical Director of the Year - 2001 The Utah Department of Health’s EMS Physician of the Year - 2002 Air Medical Physician Association's Distinguished Physician Lifetime Achievement Award - 2009 Barbara A. Hess Research and Education Award from the Association of Air Medical Services - 2015 His research interests include air medical transport, airway management and pain management. He has over 95 articles, book chapters, letters and abstracts published in the fields of emergency medicine and air medical transport. Dr. Swanson also serves on the Physician Ski Patrol at Snowbird. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his 2 daughters and spending time in the mountains skiing, hiking, running, biking and climbing. He is a competitive cross country ski racer and continues to compete nationally and internationally. He has competed in over 50 ski marathons across the globe. His top cross country skiing performances include numerous top 10 finishes in US National Masters Championships including two 3rd place finishes. He has had 3 top 15 and one top 10 result in the Cross Country Skiing Masters World Cup championships.
