Jeffrey R Vanblarcom, MD - Primary Children's Hospital Inpatient Medicine

Dr. Gary Nelson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Neurology at the University of Utah. He is a general child neurologist and sees patients with any neurological concerns. He has special interest in pediatric stroke, quality improvement, and inpatient and critical care neurology. Dr. Nelson received his medical degree from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine after completing undergraduate training at Brigham Young University. He completed a Pediatrics residency and Pediatric Neurology fellowship at the University of Utah. He is board-certified in Neurology (with special qualification in Child Neurology).

Dr. Kaur did her medical training in India, and then practiced as a junior resident in a pediatric critical care unit, prior to her position as a research fellow in pediatric critical care and immunology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. She found her interest in Child Neurology while doing research on gliomas and their relationship with immunological diseases. She graduated from Child Neurology residency at the University of New Mexico and completed pediatric epilepsy fellowship at Stanford University. She enjoys teaching, and, has been recognized for her skills as an educator by medical students. Her clinical and research interests include neonatal epilepsy, epilepsy surgery and transcranial magnetic stimulation. She has a particular interest in global health and providing epilepsy care to low income and underserved populations around the world. In her free time, she likes to travel, explore new cuisines and spend time with her family.

Dr. Linda Book graduated from the University Of Cincinnati College Of Medicine, completed a pediatric residency at Cincinnati Children's Medical Center and the University of Utah followed by fellowship training in Pediatric Gastroenterology at the University of Utah. She is a Professor of Pediatrics and is the former Chief of the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition at the University Of Utah College Of Medicine. She is the Director of the Pediatric Liver Transplant Program and Liver Center at Primary Children's Medical Center. She has over 25 years' experience compassionately caring for infants, children and adolescents with liver disease including those needing before and after liver transplant care. She is particularly proud to be part of the Primary Children's Hospital liver transplant team, which has one of the best patient outcomes in the U.S. Dr.Book has worked extensively at the regional and national levels to prioritize organ allocation to children and in the development of living donor liver transplantation She is interested in quality improvement and care models for in and outpatient transplant care, and the transitioning of adolescents to adult transplant care.. Her current research interests are biliary atresia, cholestatic liver disease and pediatric liver transplantation. She received the American Academy of Pediatrics Utah Chapter Service to Children Award and the American Academy of Pediatrics Murray Davidson Award, which recognizes clinical, teaching and research excellence in pediatric gastroenterology. She is recognized in the Hall of Honor of the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Book has held numerous national leadership positions in the American Academy of Pediatrics, Society of Pediatric Liver Transplantation and North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition.
