Texas State Teachers Association is an organization of teachers that works for the progress of education in Texas. It is formed as a result of merger between the North Texas Teachers Association and the Austin Teachers Association. The association organizes a variety of programs for retired teachers, such as retirement workshops and conferences, mentor education, and short- and long-field trips. The association also offers a wide range of student programs that include outreach to teach, state convention, leadership conference and representative assembly. Established in 1880, Texas State Teachers Association is affiliated with the National Education Association and is located in Austin.
