Dr. Lester R. Kitchen graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1961 with a Bachelor of Science. He obtained his Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Houston School of Optometry in 1964. He practiced under the late Dr. J. W. Kinard in Lubbock, TX, from 1964 to 1966, then at Lowry AFB in Colorado until 1968. He has been in private practice here in Austin, TX for over 35 years. He received his Texas State Therapeutic Optometry license in 1992. Dr. Kitchen is experienced in all aspects of eye and vision health, including hard to fit contact lenses (bifocals, keratoconus, and overnight corneal refractive therapy), as well as eye diseases and treatments. He is involved in co-management for Lasik vision correction and cataract surgery patients for Texas' leading eye surgeons. Dr. Kitchen sees patients ranging in ages from 3 to 103. We are closed for lunch from 1:00 to 2:00 pm each day. The front office is open on Friday afternoons from 2:00 to 5:00 pm for adjustments, dispenses, and billing information.
