Tara Vineyard & Winery

Tara Vineyard & Winery, the oldest winery in Henderson County, is owned and operated by the Pierce family. Nestled in among the vineyard is the TARA INN housed in the historic Murchison home, constructed in the 1880′s and relocated from downtown Athens and open for overnight guests. The winery building and Cellar Door restaurant are on the second hilltop on the estate, with a lovely covered patio with flagstone fire pits. The patio overlooks the Blanc Du Bois vineyard and the rolling panoramic hills of East Texas. TARA is the perfect setting to relax and feel like you are in another world “the TARA world”. While in our world experience beauty, relaxation and Tara’s unique selection of premium wines and wonderful food. The patio is a delightful venue for a variety of live musical events as well as just relaxing with nature. Just inside is the original Tasting Room; down the hall is the Cellar Door for fine dining and the new Wine Bar. The Cellar Door offers an exceptional cuisine and wine experience.
