Macro Management
A restaurant owner for nearly 30 years, Benson is very familiar with the daily challenges facing a food-service operation. His expertise in identifying and addressing financial and legal issues related to restaurant operation has allowed the restaurants he owns and manages to maintain their level of success. Realizing the administrative demand on a growing restaurant business, in 1983, Benson formed a management company, Macro Management Services, Inc, to coordinate the overall management of his restaurants. Once he built a computerized infrastructure to manage information flow and process financial reports, he was able to offer restaurant management services to non-owned clients. Benson currently focuses on business planning and analysis for client restaurants, as well as offering legal support on restaurant-related compliance and regulatory issues. Benson has been a practicing attorney since his 1968 graduation from St. Mary's Law School. He received his undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin. Benson has served as Chairman of the Board of the Children's Shelter of San Antonio and as board member of the Downtown Alliance, TriParty Transportation Project, the Paseo del Rio Association and Mission Road Developmental Center. He is also a member of the Restaurant Association (nationally, at the state level and locally), the San Antonio Bar Association, and the State Bar of Texas.
