HistoryLimelight Dance Academy was founded by Katie Gomez in May of 2009. Ms. Katie has been dancing since she was a child, and has been a dance instructor thoughout the Rio Grande Valley for over fifteen years, having taught Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Pointe, Lyrical/Modern, Hip-Hop, Belly Dancing and Bollywood. Ms. Katie is nationally certified by Dance Educators of America. She has attended many dance conventions and competitions and has won awards for her own dancing as well as her choreography from different companies throughout the United States. It is Ms. Katie's great pleasure to see her own Limelight students being awarded the very same honors.SpecialtiesLimelight Dance Academy's mission is to provide nationally certified dance instruction to all students while striving for excellence in personalized service. Our primary focus is on individual growth in the area of total well-being, to include the dimensions of the body, mind, and spirit. We believe that dance should help build strength, character, discipline, and self-esteem, but above all else, joy. Limelight Dance Academy strives to foster a creative and comfortable atmosphere where students can encounter true happiness as they begin their journey through movement and self-expression.
