History
In 1995, Collierville United Methodist Church housed a caregiver support group, whose members recognized a significant need in their community: caring for individuals with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, caring for their caregivers, and providing much-needed respite. Through the efforts of these caregivers and the community at large, Page Robbins was formed. Collierville Alzheimer's Day Care Center opened in September of 1995 and was located in Collierville Christian Church for six years. In 2003, when the program moved to its current location on Houston Levee, its name was changed to Page Robbins Adult Day Care Center. Almost two decades after our grassroots beginning, Page Robbins is continuing to grow. Like those caregivers, individuals, and groups who saw this organization into its fledgling stages, it is our community and its unflagging support that continues to make our care exceptional and cost affordable.
Specialties
Our mission is to provide unique and uplifting daytime care for adults with memory loss, in a safe environment, while empowering and educating their caregivers and the community. We embrace joy in the moment, focusing not on what has been lost, but on what is now. We are open Monday to Friday, 6 am - 6 pm, and offer a variety of engaging activities for our participants, including art, music, exercise, and reminiscing. Also, participants enjoy breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack. Personal care services are offered. Support groups, educational sessions, and personalized consultation are offered to caregivers and the community. Page Robbins is an independent 501(c)3 organization with oversight of daily operations and professional staff conducted by a volunteer board of directors. Funding comes in the form of client fees and various charitable donations. Page Robbins receives no government funding. We must raise approximately $710,000 each year to cover operating costs, as client fees bring in far less than what is needed to operate the Center.
