The Natural Resources Conservation Service is an agency administered by the Department of Agriculture. It administers the Conservation Innovation Grants program, which focuses on stimulating the development and adoption of conservation approaches and technologies. The Natural Resources Conservation Service also coordinates a voluntary program for agricultural landowners that include cost-share assistance and annual rental payments. It provides technical support services through technology and tools for protection, maintenance and improvement and natural resources. The agency additionally offers emergency watershed and farm and ranch land protection services. The Natural Resources Conservation Service's Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program encouraged landowners to develop upland, wetland, riparian and aquatic habitat areas on their properties.
