I chose medicine because I enjoy interacting with and helping people. I specialized in orthopedics because of my interest in athletics was a natural fit for musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. \n After completing medical school at the University of Iowa, I went on to a sports medicine fellowship at the Hughston Clinic in Columbus, Georgia. I practiced orthopedics in Iowa for three years before returning to Charleston in 2005. \n My areas of interest include arthroscopic treatments of shoulder, knee and elbow injuries, shoulder replacements and knee replacements. \n In my spare time, I enjoy running, golf, tennis, snowboarding, hanging out with my family, my Bernese mountain dogs and rooting for the Iowa Hawkeyes.
