Emmaus probably is best known as the home of Rodale, Inc., a global media company that publishes such well-known magazines as Prevention, Men's Health, Runner's World, Bicycling and Organic Gardening. It also calls itself the nation's largest independent book publisher.
Its titles range from "The Synonym Finder" to Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth." For decades, Emmaus has benefitted from Rodale's philanthropy as well its progressive philosophy about good health, good nutrition and environmental enrichment.
Rodale is the borough's largest private employer. Approximately 500 people work in several buildings across the community, including in Rodale's beautifully landscaped but unpretentious headquarters, known simply as the Main Building.
Working at Rodale isn't just a job, it's a lifestyle.
