It all started in April 1927. Gerald A. Kelleher opened for business in his family's small two-car garage vulcanizing tires and recharging batteries. On October 1, 1927, he found it necessary to move the business to a bigger location, 331 W. Market St. In 1945 Jerry's brother Larry became a partner. In 1946, Jerry and Larry purchased the property of their current location, 430 W. Market St. Jerry retired in 1970, Larry passed away in 1978, leaving the business to his three sons, Leo, Tom and Frank, who currently operate it today. In 1986 the Kelleher Brothers ventured into the used car business, KT Auto Sales. The two combined businesses, KT Auto Sales and Kelleher Tire, pride themselves on offering new and used tires, state inspections, oil changes, custom wheels, routine maintenance and quality used cars and trucks. Throughout customer research, over 75 % of our business is repeat customers. Being a low- pressure family business is still very important to us today as it was back in 1927. We pride ourselves on offering quality cars, which are all backed with a warranty. Every Quality Used Chariot goes through an extensive safety inspection before it is ready for sale.
