Dauphin County Office of Tax Assessment, located in Harrisburg, Pa., is responsible for the valuation of real property for value tax purposes. This includes all real property in the county on which taxes are calculated and levied by the various taxing authorities, including the county, municipalities and the school districts. It also administers the homestead and farmstead exclusion program, tax deferral program, and clean and green preferential assessment program. The office is a division of the Dauphin County Board of Commissioners. The board runs the county s school districts and charter holders, town and city departments and colleges. It is also in-charge of the arts and entertainment facilities, including museums, symphony groups, gardens and sports teams.
