St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, located in Beaverton, Oregon, was established in 1997 by the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco to serve the westside of Portland. The parish includes both lifelong members and converts, and it aspires to build a Byzantine-style church on a recently purchased 5.9-acre property in Hillsboro. In addition to community worship services, St. John's hosts the only Orthodox Christian school in Portland, Agia Sophia Academy, which offers education from pre-K through 8th grade. The parish is also home to the Logos Bookstore, providing a range of religious texts, educational materials, and spiritual items, contributing to the shared journey of faith among its members.
