About South Santiam Watershed Council South Santiam Watershed Council Mission: To involve local people in the enhancement and protection of the South Santiam watershed for the social and economic benefit of its landowners, managers, and users. Our office is located within the Sweet Home Ranger District Office at 4431 Hwy 20 in Sweet Home, Oregon. Please feel free to stop by if you are in the neighborhood! The South Santiam Watershed Council (SSWC) is a non-profit 501 (c) representing a broad range of stakeholders who live, work, and recreate in the South Santiam Watershed. Stakeholders participating on the SSWC include rural and urban residents, private landowners, private timber industry, agricultural interests, local businesses, community organizations, schools, and city, county, state, and federal governments. The SSWC meets on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at the Lebanon Library, located at 55 Academy St. Meetings begin at 6: 00 pm, and offer citizens an opportunity to discuss natural resource issues in a unique forum with many points of view represented. The SSWC is always looking for new members and volunteers. Membership is free and includes opportunities to see beautiful parts of our watershed. Our members play a vital role in the direction and goals of the watershed council. If you are interested in natural resources, community affairs, or ways to grow the local economy; please consider joining us. The SSWC recruits volunteers throughout the community for a variety of projects and have various tree and shrub plantings throughout the year.
