Derek J. Louie, M.Sc., O.D., FAAO is a highly regarded Division Chief and Professor of Ophthalmology at the School of Medicine in Portland, Oregon. With expertise in ophthalmology and optometry, Dr. Louie specializes in medical contact lenses for the visual rehabilitation of irregular corneal surfaces caused by various conditions such as keratoconus, corneal transplantation, and previous ocular surgeries. He utilizes innovative contact lens designs, manufacturing, and materials to provide clearer and more stable vision for patients who were previously unsuccessful or unable to tolerate contact lenses. Dr. Louie holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of British Columbia, a Master of Science degree from the University of Waterloo, and a Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry.
