Born and raised in a small town in Southeastern New Mexico, Dr. Jeana Summers attended Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri and then pursued medical school at Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa. She moved to Oklahoma City to complete her residency in orthopedic surgery, where she also met her wonderful husband. Following her desire to specialize in pediatric orthopedics, they moved to Phoenix, Arizona for a year to complete subspecialty training at Phoenix Children's Hospital. All these adventures led her and her family to the Pacific Northwest to join the excellent providers at Orthopedic + Fracture Specialists and call Portland her forever home! Approaching the patient holistically, as a whole unit, is key to Dr. Summers’ practice. Her training as an osteopathic physician has helped instill in her this holistic approach and has awarded her additional musculoskeletal training in osteopathic manipulation. Dr. Summers enjoys meeting patients, discussing their goals, and helping them achieve optimal success. Dr. Summers has special interest in pediatric sports injuries, spinal deformities, hip preservation, fractures, and lower extremity issues, including clubfoot. She is looking forward to serving the pediatric population of Portland for their orthopedic needs.

Having been a sports-injury patient and experiencing his own surgery, Dr. Mark Manoso knows the importance of communication and trust between the patient and their care team. “I find that ensuring my patients know what to expect and being there for them are fundamental in building a cohesive and caring relationship.” Dr. Manoso’s over 20 years of experience with the US Military has strengthened his bond of service to his patients and their families. The son of a retired Army Sergeant Major, Dr. Manoso went to the University of Virginia on a full Army ROTC scholarship. After college, he attended the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and stayed for an orthopedic residency, where he discovered his passion for spine and tumor surgery. Based on the military’s need at the time for an orthopaedic tumor specialist, Dr. Manoso completed his first fellowship in surgical oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City before returning to the US Army. His assignment at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington kindled his affection for the Northwest. He deployed twice to Afghanistan, with the second tour as a Forward Surgical Team Commander providing lifesaving surgery to our service members and humanitarian care to local civilians. Dr. Manoso then completed a fellowship in Spine Surgery at Harborview Medical Center and the University of Washington. He then returned to Madigan as the Chief of Orthopedics. Through the years, Dr. Manoso has continued to stay current with medical advances. In his main focus of spine surgery, he brings to the group standard as well as advanced surgeries such as multi-level cervical disc arthroplasty and minimally invasive surgery for the appropriate patient. “I cannot serve my patients well if I am not staying current and bring to them proven and safe cutting edge treatment.”
