Housed in one of gold-rush Jacksonville's early permanent structures, the Jacksonville Inn in Jacksonville, Ore., perpetuates the nostalgic romances of the era. Built in 1861 and listed in National Historic Register, the walls of the dining area and lounge are built of locally quarried sandstone and specks of gold are still visible in the mortar. The Inn extends to its visitors the ambiance of early western America and offers its guests an epicurean experience associated with superb dining along with luxurious hotel accommodations. It has become a nationally acclaimed restaurant frequently featured on CNN and The Learning Channel's Great Country Inns. As one of Oregon's most award-winning restaurants, the Inn has also been recognized by Pacific Northwest Magazine and the Oregon Magazine as one of Oregon's best restaurants.
