About Tony & Anne Gubanc opened Gubanc's Pub in March of 1976. In its infancy the Pub served only soups and sandwiches, and Tony and Anne believed success would be built on the philosophy of using only the highest quality ingredients available and preparing everything from scratch, principals the restaurant continues to rigidly adhere to. Tony contributed the sandwich-making skills he honed at The Deluxe, the bar he owned in Butte, Montana before moving to Lake Oswego. Anne worked in the kitchen preparing soups and, over the years, her craft earned the restaurant a reputation as a place for flavorful, homemade soups. While the repertoire of soups has greatly expanded since Anne last stirred the stock pot, many of her original recipes are favorites among our guests. As an alternative to serving clam chowder on Fridays, a popular concept at the time, Anne offered her cream of mushroom soup, which we continue to serve every Friday as a tradition. Over the years, it has been our pleasure to serve generations of families, and we feel equally as privileged each day to see the many long-time patrons that come through our doors as we do to welcome newcomers. As a small, local business, we believe in supporting other like-situated operations and patronize local vendors and use ingredients sourced from Oregon and the greater Northwest as much as seasons and availability allow us. Gubanc's continues today in its third generation of family ownership and management. We are committed to providing nothing short of excellence in food and service and welcome your comments and questions. Our business hours are 11: 00am to 10pm, Monday through Saturday. We are closed on Sundays.
