I lived in OKC much of the '90s and loved Johnnie's .. moved back east around '96. I took my wife to OKC a couple weeks ago and remembered Johnnies but didn't know if my memory was exaggerated .....

The first Johnnie s Charcoal Broiler was opened in 1971 in Oklahoma City. Today, it is a chain of nearly eleven restaurants that are owned by David and Rick Haynes. It serves more than 30,000 burgers each week. The restaurant s menu includes a variety of sandwiches, salads, sides, soups, steaks and desserts. Johnnie s Charcoal Broiler additionally offers a special children s menu that includes breaded chicken strips, grilled cheese sandwiches and junior burgers. It operates a club that provides information related to special offers and events to members. In addition, the restaurant has a private room for various social and corporate events and can accommodate up to 75 guests. Johnnie s Charcoal Broiler maintains a location in Edmond, Okla.

I ordered a kid's meal for myself- grilled cheese with fries, a soda and onion rings. I was not thrilled with the grilled cheese but was told the burger is what you should get. The place itself...

I ordered on the website while we were driving to the restaurant. (5 minutes before getting there) The food was cold when I received it. The service was not great. I used to love Johnnie's but...

The manager there is horrendous. Takes no accountability- they serve raw burgers. That he claims are medium

Johnnie's is the best. Charcoal burgers, shredded American cheese, theta sauce and the best onion rings around. I have been eating at Johnnie's for 40 years.
