History
The Parish of Christ the King has been present in the Tulsa Catholic community for more than ninety-five years. It attracts Catholics and non-Catholics alike who are drawn by the unique, timeless, and beautiful quality of its art and architecture. Originally established in 1917 as Sacred Heart Parish, and in 1925 a new church on this site had been commissioned by Bishop Francis Clement Kelley. Bishop Kelley decided to have the name of the name of new church changed in honor of a new universal Feast of Christ the King declared by the reigning Pope Pius XI.
