Formerly known as Middlefield Cheese, Rothenbuhler Cheesemakers has been producing delicious Swiss cheese varieties of high quality since 1956, when Hans Rothenbuhler made its first 250 lb. wheel of cheese. Hans and his wife Ann worked as a team in creating Middlefield Cheese, with Ann running the retail store, known today as the Rothenbuhler Cheese Chalet. Today, the company is led by the couple's son, John, who leads with the same passion and commitment to quality as his father. The Cheese Chalet offers a wide selection of meats and cheeses cut to order, fresh sandwiches, bakery items, local and gourmet products, and of course samples of our Swiss!
