Mentor Marsh Nature Preserve, managed by the state and the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, spans 850 acres and is the largest coastal wetland in northeast Ohio. Over 650 acres of the preserve are designated as a State Nature Preserve, with a nature center operated by CMNH and a local Board of Managers.

The preserve offers guided nature walks led by naturalists every Sunday it is open, along with the opportunity for field trips and class lessons by appointment. Volunteers are encouraged to participate in preserving the marsh, with a reminder that dogs and bikes are not permitted within the State Nature Preserve.
