In February 1934, seven employees of the State Avenue Kroger Manufacturing Plant met and organized the Kemba Cincinnati Credit Union to serve employees of the factory and packinghouse. The name Kemba derived from the Kroger Employees Mutual Benefit Association, which extended various benefits to employees. With more than 70 years of doing business, Kemba Credit Union provides a solid financial background and offers its members traditional banking services, such as checking and savings accounts, as well as unlimited availability to their accounts with 24-hour access from anywhere in the world. Kemba also provides online banking, financial planning, Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA) and share certificates. In addition, Kemba supports its fully-owned subsidiary, CU Advantage, which offers tax services, car buying and leasing services, GAP/Extended Warranty, information technology programming and Internet service.
