Sunil Wadhwa, DDS

Dr. Papapanou is a professor of Dental Medicine at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. He is internationally recognized for his research in the epidemiology of periodontal diseases, the assessment of microbial and host-derived risk factors, the pathobiology of periodontitis and its role in as a general health stressor in atherosclerosis and pregnancy complications. His research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, foundations and industry. He is a member of the advisory board of several scientific journals, a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and a Past President of the Periodontal Research Group of the International Association of Dental Research.

Dr. Sahng G. Kim is a professor of Dental Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center in the section of Cariology and Restorative Sciences, division of Endodontics at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. He is the director of the division of Endodontics and program director of postdoctoral Endodontics program. Dr. Kim earned his dental degree at Seoul National University and completed his specialty training in Endodontics and earned a master's degree in oral biology at the University of Pennsylvania. He received his DDS degree from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. He has published extensively on dental pulp regeneration and topics related to Endodontics and lectured nationally and internationally. Dr. Kim has served on the American Association of Endodontists' Research and Scientific Affairs Committee and currently serves as an associate editor of the Journal of Endodontics. Dr.Fine is presently Senior Associate Dean for Postdoctoral Academic and Student Affairs,Professor of Dental Medicine (in Periodontics) at CUMC, and Attending Dentist on the Presbyterian Hospital Dental Service. He also serves as the ChiefPractice Director of Faculty Practices at the College of Dental Medicine. Dr.Fine became a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology in 1993. He hasparticipated extensively in the educational program, teaching dental studentsduring all four years of their education and postdoctoral students in all threeyears of their master’s training programs. He has served on the AmericanAcademy of Periodontology committees including the Research, Science andTherapy Committee. Dr.Fine has been the recipient of several teaching awards and fellowships atColumbia. He has been a principal investigator or co-investigator in fundedresearch projects and he has authored or co-authored numerous articles,chapters, and abstracts in the periodontal literature including co-authoringthe text Clinical Guide to Periodontics. He provides services in ImplantDentistry, Periodontics, and Oral Medicine at the faculty practice.
