Founded in 1754, The New York Society Library is a subscription library and contains approximately three hundred thousand volumes. Based in New York, N.Y., it caters to the general reader and also enables individuals to undertake research. The library allows members to borrow books and provides several reading as well as study rooms on the upper floors. The New York Society Library organizes events for adults, children, along with exhibitions. The library is one of the oldest libraries in New York City.
