Hyunmi Choi, MD

Ikjae Lee, MD is an Assistant Professor of Neurology in the Division of Neuromuscular Medicine. Dr. Lee received his MD from Seoul National University College of Medicine in South Korea. After moving to United States, he completed residency in Neurology and fellowship in Neuromuscular Medicine at the University of Cincinnati. During his training, he received Outstanding Junior Investigators by American Stroke Association in 2013 and Resident & Fellow member recognition award by American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine in 2016. Dr. Lee joined University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2016 as an Assistant Professor in Neurology Department where he served as a Co-Director of ALS Multidisciplinary Clinic focusing on high quality care of ALS and other neuromuscular disease patients. His expertise in clinical neuromuscular medicine fueled his passion in education and research leading to achievement of 2017 Best Abstract Award by American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine and 2018 Faculty Teacher of the Year Award selected by University of Alabama at Birmingham Neurology Residents. Finally, Dr. Lee joined Columbia University Department of Neurology, Division of Neuromuscular Medicine, Eleanor and Lou Gehrig ALS Center in 2020 where he will continue his efforts as a clinician-researcher. Dr. Lee is board certified in Neurology, Neuromuscular medicine and Electrodiagnostic Medicine.

Alexander G. Khandji, MD, FACR, is professor of radiology in neurological surgery and neurology, vice-chair for clinical affairs in the department, and associate director of the radiology service at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. He was chief resident during his residency here and later completed training in neuroradiology at the Neurological Institute. His special interests include MRI, diagnostic neuroangiography and percutaneous diagnostic and interventional spinal procedures. He is especially interested in developing noninvasive techniques to evaluate vascular lesions of the brain and the spinal cord using MR arterial spin labelling. He also involved with the neuroendocrine unit here at Columbia to evaluate paients with endocrine disorders using MRI as well as venous petrosal sinus sampling.

Dr. Claire Riley earned an undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and a medical degree from Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons (VP&S). She completed an internship in internal medicine and her residency in neurology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. In addition, she completed a two-year clinical fellowship in the Columbia University Multiple Sclerosis Center in 2010. Dr. Riley is board certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Riley is the Director of the Columbia MS Center, where she has led the clinical team since January 2012. She was previously the Clinical Director of the Yale MS Center in New Haven, CT. Dr. Riley regularly teaches medical students, residents and fellows in the MS clinic. She is also an investigator in clinical trials related to multiple sclerosis and is particularly interested in furthering treatments for progressive MS.
