Touted as the oldest public observatory on Long Island, Custer Institute offers regular stargazing every Saturday evening at dusk. In addition, members have regular events to use the facilities, library, and telescopes.
Stargazing is not the only offering. Open mic nights, art exhibits, music, lectures, poetry readings, and private events are held at Custer throughout the year. Teachers can also receive in-service credit through Custer. Custer welcomes new members and volunteers throughout the year.
