Melissa J. Goldstein, MD, along with the rest of her esteemed Carnegie Hill Pediatrics colleagues, proudly serves the children of New York City's Upper East Side. She earned her medical degree in 1999 from Cornell University Medical College, served her internship and pediatric residency at New York-Weill Cornell Hospital, and currently lives in New York City with her son. After completing her residency, Dr. Goldstein practiced pediatric medicine in Russia for four years, working among Moscow's large expatriate community. During her time in Moscow, Dr. Goldstein performed pre-adoption evaluations for international couples who wanted to adopt Russian orphans. After that, Dr. Goldstein worked with Dr. Jane Aronson at New York City's International Pediatric Health Services. There, she provided pediatric care for adopted children. Today, Dr. Goldstein dedicates much of her time to helping families navigate the steps to adoption, practicing adoption medicine and offering pre-adoption medical counseling. She can recommend and provide travel vaccinations, new adoptive-parent counseling, and give cultural insight to parents in the process of adopting in the United States and abroad.
