History
Since 1880, The Salvation Army has been serving the underserved in Camden, NJ. Throughout this time, The Salvation Army has provided social services including emergency food and regular feeding programs to support at risk populations. In October 2014, we opened a new, state-of-the-art, community center, The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center. This 120,000 square foot facility on a 24-acre campus offers human services, health and fitness, spiritual, community and educational programming for Southwest New Jersey communities, particularly Camden City where it is based.
Specialties
Opened in October 2014, the Kroc Center is a dramatic expansion of The Salvation Army's infrastructure in southern New Jersey, as we respond to needs in Camden City and beyond. Today, there are over 6,000 members of the Kroc Center, representing over 2,000 families. The Center has thousands of entries each week with a diversity of state-of-the-art programming in a multitude of spaces. This 120,000 square foot facility on a 24-acre campus offers human services, health and fitness, spiritual, community and educational programming for Southwest New Jersey communities.
