Founded in 1838 by the Methodist Church, The Pennington School is an independent, coeducational school that serves more than 450 day and boarding students in grades six through 12. The school offers a college preparatory curriculum with honors and advance placement classes, and the English as a second language program for international students. Its academic curriculum includes English, French, German, American history, fine and visual arts, chemistry, physics, Latin, biology, and government and politics. The school offers a variety of athletic activities, including cheerleading, basketball, golf, cross country, swimming, lacrosse, field hockey, track, softball, soccer, tennis, baseball, football and ice hockey. Additionally, it provides various athletic facilities, such as a gymnasium, basketball courts, swimming pool, fitness and weight rooms, tennis courts, outdoor track and playing fields. The school is located in Pennington, N.J.
