Seton Hall University, founded in 1856 by Bishop James Roosevelt Bayley, is the oldest diocesan university in the United States. It has more than 10,000 students from 40 U.S. states and territories, and dozens of countries. The campus is home to eight schools: the College of Arts and Sciences, the W. Paul Stillman School of Business, the College of Education and Human Services, the College of Nursing, the Immaculate Conception School of Theology, the School of Graduate Medical Education, the School of Diplomacy and International Relations, and University College. Seton Hall s School of Law is located in Newark. The university is located 14 miles southwest of New York City in the Village of South Orange, N.J.
