The Shade Tree is a nonprofit organization that provides shelter to homeless and abused women and children. The organization also serves female veterans, homeless youth, physically disabled individuals, and victims of elder abuse and domestic and street violence. Its facility includes more than 300 permanent beds and over 50 temporary beds. The Shade Tree s facilities include a kitchen, laundry, restrooms, libraries, and sleeping and training rooms. The organization has partnerships with metro police, local doctors, nurses and hospitals. It provides job development skills, educational, and transitional and emergency shelter programs. Founded in 1990, The Shade Tree is located in North Las Vegas, Nev.
