Terrible's Rail City Casino located in Sparks, Nev., is owned and operated by Herbst Gaming. The full-scale gaming casino, with alehouse and two restaurant operations, is part of Herbst Gaming's 14 properties in Las Vegas, Henderson, Pahrump, Reno, Sparks, Nev. and three casinos in St. Joseph and LaGrange Mo., and Osceola, Iowa. As the operator of over 8,400 slot machines throughout the state, Herbst Gaming is one of the largest operators of slot machines in Nevada. Its business is divided into two segments slot route operations and casino operations. Its slot and casino businesses target local customers and capitalize on Nevada s strong demographic trends. Herbst Gaming had its beginnings in 1987 as an offshoot of the family business, Terrible Herbst Oil Company. The Terrible Herbst brand and familiar "Bad Guy" cowboy logo, has been utilized in Nevada since 1959 and is currently used at five casinos, 80 gasoline stations and convenience stores as well as over 600 slot route locations located throughout the state.
