St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Edina was originally established in 1929 with 25 members. It has since grown substantially and expanded to include a school. A guiding principle of St. Peter's Lutheran Church is to create an environment of trust, compassion and mutual purpose. St. Peter's also has an Early Childhood Education Center and a K-8 school. The school was established in 1945. St. Peter's Sanctuary was built in 1957 and was designed by the same architect who designed the original Guthrie Theatre.
