The Battle Lake Area Fire and Rescue Association (BLAFRA) is a collaborative effort between the City of Battle Lake and four surrounding townships, providing essential fire and rescue services to the community. With a dedicated team of approximately 20 volunteer firefighters, the Battle Lake Fire Department is committed to preventing fires through education, as well as preserving and protecting life and property in the Battle Lake Fire District.
Under the umbrella of BLAFRA, the Battle Lake Rescue Squad consists of around 20 trained volunteers who offer vital medical attention and assistance at the scene of emergencies. Comprised of First Responders, EMTs, Paramedics, and RNs, the squad operates under the guidance of a Medical Doctor, ensuring the highest level of care. Their services extend beyond city limits, and they can be accessed through a 911 call.
