University Center for the Development of Language and Literacy was founded in 1992. It conducts a research program designed to improve understanding of language and literacy skills in African-American children. The center also provides intensive language and literacy intervention programs for adults with aphasia, language and learning difficulties and for children and adolescents with language and literacy impairments. Certified, professional speech and language pathologists provide language and literacy therapy services. University Center for the Development of Language and Literacy is based in Ann Arbor, Mich.
