Megan Dietrich, NP

Madison originally chose to pursue a nursing career, as it gave her the opportunity to provide holistic and personalized care. While working as a nurse technician, she became interested in oncology because of the meaningful impact she was able to have on the patients and families. She was humbled by the experience and wanted to further be involved as a nurse practitioner, where she would be able to help meet patients at a vulnerable time in their life and enforce the patient and family-centered care that is crucial in oncology care. Madison is constantly working to be the best she can be for her patients, and she is dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive space within the healthcare system.

Dr Bivins has always had a passion for science. Practicing medicine was a way for him to pursue his love of science and directly apply that knowledge to helping people. During his internal medicine residency in Kalamazoo, he spent a rotation at the West Michigan Cancer Center – spiking his interest in the medical oncology field. “This is an extremely interesting area of medicine. New treatments are constantly becoming available.” Dr Bivins specializes in treating patients with solid tumors, like brain cancer, lung cancer and GI cancers. However, as a medical oncologist and hematologist, he works with patients with all types of cancers and blood disorders. Dr Bivins and his wife are both West Michigan natives.

Sarah became a physician assistant, serving orthopedics, because it aligned with her passion for caring for others, health and movement. She enjoys the balance between assisting in the operating room and seeing patients in the office, along with the variety of conditions and injuries that are treated on a daily basis. Sarah thinks its important that every patient has a good understanding of their condition/injury and options for moving forward. She makes it a priority to have all of her patient's questions answered before they leave the office. Sarah is excited to come to work each day because she is able to play a role in each patient's unique journey.
