History
Our roots in the electric power industry date back to 1888 and the pioneering innovations of W.A. & J.B. Foote. At that time, people traveled from around the globe to see what was considered to be extremely high-voltage transmission lines that the Foote brothers had engineered. One hundred years later, we continue to provide forward-looking service to utilities and industrial clients so they can generate and deliver power when and where it is needed. In 1988, after being acquired by another entity whose leaders decided that the Jackson, Michigan office should be closed, Commonwealth's founders made the decision to reorganize in the same spot and continue under a name that was, and remains, well known and respected in the industry. The new company flourished and today boasts regional offices around the country with top notch staff that are committed to exceptional technical performance and actively contribute to today's industry standards. Commonwealth -- Connect With Confidence.
