The Environmental League of Massachusetts has been lobbying law makers to pass environmentally-friendly legislation since 1898 -- and it's been on Beacon Hill that entire time. The League has had a hand in creating the state's first forest and park systems. Currently its biggest initiative is the Global Warming Solutions Project. The League operates with a yearly budget of $650,000 and most of this money is raised through donations from individuals and foundations and fundraising events like Earth Night. The full-time staff of five is always in the market for volunteers to help out with general office work.
