Education Development Center, also known as EDC, is an international, nonprofit organization that operates more than 300 projects. It offers a variety of services, including early child development, grades kindergarten through 12 education, health promotion, work force preparation, community development, learning technologies, basic and adult education, institutional reform, medical ethics and social justice services. It is supported through grants and contracts from a variety of sources, including the United States and foreign government agencies, private foundations, nonprofit organizations, universities and corporations. Education Development Center employs scientists and mathematicians, health professionals and health educators, teachers, administrators, community organizers, artists, writers and researchers. Founded in 1958, the organization is located in Newton, Mass.
