Open Circle Theatre is DC's first professional theatre that promotes careers in the arts for people with disabilities, celebrating the uniqueness of each person and valuing a diverse community. Founded in 2003, they create from the principle that disability can enhance the artistic experience, expand aesthetic innovation, and influence a community to become accessible for all.
Committed to anti-racist practices and policies, Open Circle Theatre stands in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement and actively seeks to strengthen their organization with members who bring lived experiences of being disabled, deaf, BIPOC, women, and LGBTQIA+. They are dedicated to disability justice and strive to create a vibrant, radically-inclusive, and intersectional space.
