Got an idea, but don't know how to sew it? Call Hoffman Brothers. A manufacturer and distributor of equipment for the sewn products industry since 1903, they have a wealth of experience in a variety of industries. With four locations in the greater Chicago, IL area, they have serviced industries as varied as flag making, duffle bags, furniture, automotive interiors, tents and awnings, lingerie, shoes, embroidery and much more. In a market that has evolved into more industrial sewing, as opposed to garment manufacturing, Hoffman Brothers has had to expand its range of expertise and offer more services to meet its customers needs. "In the late 1950's, we began importing die cutting equipment from Europe, " comments Scott Hoffman, Vice President of Hoffman Brothers. "Since that time we have become specialists in automated die cutting systems, including swing arm clickers, traveling head and four column full head presses with cutting pressures from 15 to 300 tons. More recently, we have added a line of strip cutting machines and 'intelligent' laser cutting equipment which can employ a television camera to fully automate various cutting processes. "In addition, we have acquired the inventory, equipment and machinery of C&W Sewing Machine Attachment Co., and are adding more engineering capabilities, " he continues. "We are currently manufacturing a variety of special purpose sewing equipment for the textile industry, including multi-needle machines with widths up to 48 inches. We can also manufacture any sewing machine attachment, gauge set or part, even obsolete ones. "Although we have one of the largest used sewing machine inventories in the United States, we are now concentrating on manufacturing: ' explains Mr. Hoffman. "Our customers now recognize that they need labor saving devices, special attachments, workstations and innovative automated equipment to insure their companies' success for the future.
